Recent Publication: Mind the Gap – Industry 4.0 meets Gender
The increasing digitization and intelligent networking of machines and processes in industryy, referred to as "Industry 4.0", offers various opportunities and risks and is likely to be accompanied by major economic and social transformation processes. Especially in the context of work, it is expected that the advancing digitization and automation will significantly change the skills in demand among workers and, thus, entail (structural) changes regarding job availability and work tasks. In their publication "Mind the Gap - Industry 4.0 meets Gender", Univ.-Prof. Dr. Carmen Leicht-Scholten, head of the GDI, and Anna Bouffier discuss what these transformations mean for existing gender relations and how we as a society can unlock the potential of digitization for more gender justice.
The book contribution is published in "Handbuch Industrie 4.0: Recht, Technik, Gesellschaft" (Springer-Verlag), which can be ordered as an e-book and hardcover (German only).
