BIOS: New cooperation course in civil engineering with orientation semester
Building on the extremely successful cooperation project "Guter Studienstart im Ingenieurbereich" (Good Start of Studies in Engineering), which was launched in 2015 by the FH and RWTH Aachen University, the independent cooperation course "Bauingenieurwesen mit Orientierungssemester (BIOS)" (Bauingenieurwesen mit Orientierungssemester) will now start in the summer semester 2020.
The course is aimed at students who wish to gain realistic insights into the civil engineering course at both universities in order to be able to make their individual study decision for a type of university and, if necessary, a later specialisation. In addition, a clear focus is placed on the topic of socially responsible technology design. The degree programme offers numerous opportunities to participate in interdisciplinary courses and also to earn credit points at other faculties. In addition to a joint orientation semester with FH Aachen, an additional eighth semester was designed for students who decide to study at RWTH Aachen University after the first semester. This offers the opportunity to gain experience abroad and practical experience as well as other non-subject competences within the regular course of studies.
Further information on the BIOS programme can be found on the website of the Faculty of Civil Engineering and on the website of the programme. The application deadline is 29 February 2020.
