Last week, the kick-off for the first-semester students in the Civil Engineering with Orientation Semester (BIOS) program took place for the second time.

The cooperative study program BIOS between RWTH Aachen University and FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences is aimed at students who wish to gain realistic insights into the study program Civil Engineering at both universities in order to make their individual study decision. In addition, there is a clear focus on the topic of socially responsible engineering design in the first semester.

On the second day of the introductory week, the young students went to the Department of Civil Engineering at RWTH Aachen University. A guided tour through the hydraulic engineering hall and through the solid construction halls (many thanks for the support by the IWW and the IMB) gave a first impression of the experimental work at the department.

We wish all BIOS students a good start into their studies!
