buildING│bridges - Integration of gender and diversity perspectives in electric mobility and teaching

Project Background

The consideration of gender perspectives in mobility research can be defined in two ways. On the one hand, to make gender relations a subject of discussion. On the other hand, it is necessary to obtain a change of perspective concerning different situations, lifestyles and strategies for coping with everyday life, which cannot only be exclusively determined by the sex or traditional role attributions. This requires a widening of perspective not only to gender but also to diversity issues. Therefore, it is necessary to consider further diversity-categories in mobility research in addition to the diversity-dimension sex.

Also in the field of teaching, universities increasingly strive for the inclusion of gender and diversity perspectives, to achieve a continuous quality improvement. In this connection, it is in particular important to develop teaching concepts that are, contrary to frontal teaching methods, participative and interactive. Especially the blended learning approach and the consideration of different types of learners in conjunction with the heterogeneity of the students may contribute to the production of gender and diversity equity in higher education.
