October 13, 2017: Children's university 2017: Fire and flame - fire safety for all!

Fire is an important part of human life. For millions of years fire was used for cooking and heating.
On the other hand, fire can also causes a great danger.

In this lecture of children’s university, we will show how fire safety engineers could ward off the danger of fire. By using the example of preventive fire protection, it will be illustrated how important it is to take into account the diverse interests and needs of people. You will see in which ways fire protection, that means the protection of people against fire and smoke, works and how escape paths in buildings can be ensured for all. Together we learn how an escape from a building can run smoothly for people with different requirements.
